Music

All pupils have the opportunity to learn and experience music as part of the Expressive Arts Area of Learning and Experience. Pupils have the opportunity to experience Welsh music and music from a variety of cultures and genres, opportunities to be creative and create simple arrangements and compositions, and opportunities to refine performances including voice and while having a taste of various instruments.

Music plays a vital role in our work with the community. We take every opportunity for pupils to build the confidence to stand up in front of an audience. Concerts, school eisteddfods and Penrhyn-coch Cathedral Eisteddfod as well as the Urdd offer valuable and memorable experiences for our pupils.

Through the Ceredigion Music service, instrumental lessons are offered including piano lessons, string lessons, brass lessons and woodwind lessons. Depending on the instrument, lessons are usually offered to pupils from year 3 onwards. There is an opportunity to book instrumental lessons for the year at the end of the Summer term annually.
