Communication

These are the best ways to contact the school about your child and related matters:

In-person at end of school day

Our teachers will be outside at the end of the school day when you pick up your child. This is a friendly, easy and low-tech way to keep in touch.

 Class Dojo

Class Dojo is a free app for sharing day-to-day school activities, classwork, and homework. Use this to message your teacher direct with practical questions and concerns.

You can download the app here. https://www.classdojo.com Once downloaded search for our school, then your teacher to request an access code.

Parentmail is a system for sending out school letters. It can also be used for noting absences, and paying digitally for trips and events.

Download parentmail here Login - IRIS ParentMail

Email

If you wish to raise any matter about the school and its procedures please get in touch with the head on our main school e-mail. prif@penllwyn.ceredigion.sch.uk

We aim to respond to this within 48 hours.

For matters at a higher level please email our chair of governors on millsr43@penrhyncoch.ceredigion.sch.uk

Parents Evenings

We run in-person parents evenings twice a year. You can make an appointment in the schedule for a one-to-one sit down chat about your child’s progress and have an opportunity to see your child’s work. You will also receive a written report in the summer term.

Calendar

Find out about the term's events on our school calendar displayed on the calendar page on the website. The calendar can be synched with the google calendar app if you search for ‘Disgyblion a Rhieni Ysgol Penllwyn’

Parents should not expect each disagreement, disappointment or achievement a child experiences during the school day to be communicated. Teachers will exercise professional judgement on a case-by-case basis, and communicate either on class dojo, or if requiring a further discussion, in person/over the phone.

The school is committed to fostering a respectful, polite and inclusive environment in which teachers and pupils can thrive. Please be mindful of this in all communications with our team. Instances where dignity and respect are not demonstrated (i.e. through malicious or vexatious complaints or behaviour deemed to constitute bullying and harassment) will not be tolerated.
